ABOUT INCENSE & RESINS
Incense burning has provided us with a direct and immediate experience
that stimulates the senses and initiates a profound effect on
the physical, emotional, psycho, spiritual and astral aspects
of our being.
Ancient civilizations burned various types of incense for a variety
of spiritual & therapeutic reasons. The Greeks and Romans
used fumigation (incense) for physical and mental disorders and
in the management of epidemics. The Chinese have used incense
to cure disease, drive away plagues and manage harmful insects.
Many cultures, including those above used incense in the following
ways:
To create a calming and sacred
atmosphere
To accompany healing, increase
resistance to disease and to prevent infection
In Prayer & worship for
their God
For purification, personally,
spiritually and environmentally
To release unwanted vibrations
To transcend ordinary consciousness,
create self-awareness and attain great clarity.
To shift the emotional state
of being:
calm, focus, uplift, renew and arouse etc.
As a result of renewed interest in spiritual wisdom and a desire
for a deeper connection to nature many of the rituals and traditions
of burning incense have been revived today. No longer is this
practice reserved for the occasional worship in church and temple
but its use has become a common practice in settings as diverse
as household aromatics, dinner parties, meditation & prayer,
healing, work, play & romance.
Studies have shown that daily use of pure Incense, can and
does prevent disease, promote longevity, harmonize the psychophysical
constitution, and increase mental clarity. However we must be sure that
the products we are using are pure and 100% natural as anything less can
have adverse affects and can be potentially harmful.
