The practice
of acupuncture and oriental medicine is a complex system of diagnosis
that views the person as a whole. It is based on discerning the
"pattern of disharmony" and treating accordingly.
Acupuncture and Herbal Medicines are ancient therapy that has
been around for over 2000 years and is now be integrating in
many hospitals and clinics around the world. Acupuncture stimulates
a self healing response in the bodies system by inserting very
thin, hair-like needles into specific acupoints. Acupuncture
is not painful. Acu-points are energetic pathways on and under
the skin. It is based on the theory that an essential energy
moves through the body in a complex network of pathways called
meridians. By stimulating appropriate acupuncture points along
these meridians, the energy is regulated, and health is restored.
Acupuncture
& Herbal Medicine have been highly recognized by the National
Institute of Health (NIH) as well as by The World Health Organization
for its benefits in treating pain and other health related concerns
including an adjunct treatment for Cancer patients. Its successful
use for pain management results from stimulating acupoints which
release endorphins that are natural pain killers in the body.
Many Acupuncturists
are trained in Herbal Medicine, and use the ancient Herbal remedies,
Moxibustion, nutrition, meditation, breathing exercise and other
methodologies in their practice to further support the natural
healing powers within the body, and improve and maintain general
health.
